Mr & Mrs Dream
After the performance Marco Polo and its decor in 2D animation, the Théâtre du Corps Pietragalla-Derouault innovates with a new 3D dance performance by partnering with the world leader in 3D: Dassault Systèmes , The 3DExperience Company.
In this innovative concept, dance and 3D technology meet on stage and take the audience into a unique visual experience of a 3 dimensional virtual reality. Immersed in this virtual and interactive decor, everything becomes possible. Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault share their daydream at the crossroads of dance, theatre and illusion, where the real is twisted.
Mr & Mrs Dream, two characters who have escaped from the imagination of their author, Eugène Ionesco, wander through his plays like stages of their lives. They re-invent their lives, dream their love, meeting with reality momentarily.
This ground breaking and entertaining performance manifests before our eyes at the speed of a shooting star... Imagine dancing in the cosmos, swimming in a sea of words and watching rhinoceroses dancing, whilst discovering an incredible world that is yet familiar... You will be left with the desire to meet the two mysterious characters who emanate from the writers’ extraordinary mind and share their story.
Imagine using immersive virtual reality and the industrial simulation technology to develop a new stage-language that would extend our imagination. This has been achieved by meeting at the crossroads of art, science and technology with a creative and enthusiastic team of engineers from Dassault Systèmes. In less than a year they have jointly designed together with Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault a performance of a new genre, giving the look and feel of unreal virtuality. That which extends the potential of imagination. For the first time, projections on a surface of 200 m² shape an immersive imaginary world in symbiosis with the two dancers
